Staffin sits at the north end of the island, 16 miles from Portree, in the region known as the Trotternish Ridge. With its scattering of white crofts and the breathtaking magnificence of sweeping slopes, this area is noted for the richness of its coastal wildlife. |

Within a couple of minutes walk I can be sitting on the rocky shores of Staffin Bay and, dependent on the season, watching thunderous waves break against the magnificent Jurassic coastline or the tranquil sea beckoning me to row out to Staffin Island. |

Whether it's the challenging peaks of the Red Cuillins; the remarkable stratification of Kilt Rock; the almost supernatural spectacle of The Old Man of Storr or the many other natural phenomenon, too numerous to mention, this beautiful island continues to be my inspiration. |
